Physical & Chemical Features:
Appearance: Grey white wax solid
Solubility: Ethephon is soluble in ethanol, methanol, isopropanol, acetone, ethyl acetate and other polar organic solvents, slightly soluble in non-polar organic solvents such as benzene, toluene, insoluble in kerosene, diesel.
Density: 1.409±0.02g/cm3 (20℃)
Melting Point: 74℃～75℃

Mode of action:
Plant growth regulator with systemic properties. Penetrates into the plant tissues, and is decomposed to ethylene, which affects the growth processes.
1. Ethephon promotes plant organ aging mature. Such as for ripening of cotton ball, tomatoes turn red.
2. Ethephon restrains stem and leaves growth, such as for maize dwarf and lodging resistance, cultivate stocky rice seedling, control lychee tip to promote ear.
3. Ethephon increases numbers of female flower of cucumbers and improve output.
4. Ethephon breaks the dormancy and promote seed germination.
5. Ethephon stimulate rubber run latex, improve production
6. Ethephon promotes shedding fruit of hawthorn, dates, easy picking fruit.
7. Ethephon promotes dwarf plant and good plantage for wheat male sterility,
8. Cuttage rooting and inducing plants roots
9. Ethephon promots pineapple flowering, shorten the growth time of pineapple

Application:
Ethephon promotes pre-harvest ripening in apples, currants, blackberries, blueberries, cranberries, morello cherries, citrus fruit, figs, tomatoes, sugar beet and fodder beet seed crops, coffee, capsicums, etc.;
Ethephon accelerates post-harvest ripening in bananas, mangoes, and citrus fruit; to facilitate harvesting by loosening of the fruit in currants, gooseberries, cherries, and apples;
Ethephon increases flower bud development in young apple trees; to prevent lodging in cereals, maize, and flax; to induce flowering of Bromeliads;
Ethephon stimulates lateral branching in azaleas, geraniums, and roses; to shorten the stem length in forced daffodils;
Ethephon induces flowering and regulate ripening in pineapples; to accelerate boll opening in cotton;
Ethephon modifies sex expression in cucumbers and squash; to increase fruit setting and yield in cucumbers;
Ethephon improves the sturdiness of onion seed crops; to hasten the yellowing of mature tobacco leaves;
Ethephon stimulates latex flow in rubber trees, and resin flow in pine trees; to stimulate early uniform hull split in walnuts; etc.
Max. application rate per season 2.18 kg/ha for cotton, 0.72 kg/ha for cereals, 1.44 kg/ha for fruit.
