Product characteristic:
Diflubenzuron is a chitin synthesis inhibitor, which is one type of insect growth regulator. Unlike juvenile mimic hormones, the chitin synthesis inhibitors interfere with the normal synthesis of insect exoskeletons during molting or at hatching of eggs. Diflubenzuron is a non-systemic active ingredient with contact and stomach activity. It is used to control a wide range of leaf-eating insects in forestry, woody ornamentals and fruit. It controls some major pests in cotton, soy beans, citrus, tea, vegetables, rice, peanuts, tree nuts and mushrooms. Also controls larvae of flies, mosquitoes, grasshoppers and migratory locusts. It is also used to control ectoparasites in sheep, specifically lice, fleas and blowfly larvae.
Mode of action: The mechanism of action is through inhibition of chitin synthesis, hindering insect normal molting, egg hatching, larvae molting and pupal developmental deformity and block of adult feather.
Target pests & Usage:
Diflubenzuron is a benzamide insecticide used on forest and field crops to selectively control insects and parasites. Principle target insect species are the gypsy moth, forest tent caterpiller, several evergreen eating moths and the boll weevil.
1. The product is used against a wide range of major pests including mosquitoes, grasshoppers and migratory locusts.
2. Special effect to Lepidoptera pest, including cabbagecaterpillar, cabbage moth, beet armyworm, tobacco caterpillar, cotton bollworm, etc.
